Jareth: I’ve brought you a gift.
Sarah: What is it?
Jareth: It’s a crystal. Nothing more. But if you turn it this way and look into it, it will show you your dreams. But this is not a gift for an ordinary girl who takes care of a screaming baby.

Up to date?

I nearly forgot about my little blog. There were so many things to do and to think about that my head felt like a honeycomb. BUT, the website and the flyer for my institute are finally finished, and I hope that that means that the next will be more relaxed.

I am really excited that I get the possibility to attend the Lasse Lanta (what simply means Falling of the leafs) of the Austrian Tolkien Society. It’s over 4 years ago that I spent a wonderful weekend with my friends at the Burg Kreuzen in Oberösterreich, and I am quit sure that this year will get better. ;) The workshops sound great especially the training with bow and arrow. I fear I will badly lose.

This weekend I will go to the medieval market in Golling, but this time with out my dress and only for Sunday. I hope I will meet there my friends from the ÖTG. Last years market was really great, but well let’s see how the new location in Golling will change that (to better or worse).

Medieval marcet and encampment

It’s now a week ago that I took the chance to travel into another time. ;) I am speeking of the medieval marcet and encampment of the Burgfest Kaprun that took place last weekend, 26.- 27. July in Kaprun/Salzburg.

EinzugIt was a really great weekend with a lot of fun. The marcet was placed at the feet of the castle of Kaprun that made a wonderful scenery. In the inner courtyard there took place concerts of Ragnaroek, Rhiannon and all other bands. On the nothern terrace people could see hawks and falcons of Mike the falconer.

In the marcet place a lot of merchants tried to sell their goods and these goods were very colorful. From wooden toys to sulphurated fruits, to shields and bows. There was something for everybody. Marina and I spent a lot of time at the “Tränke zum Wilden Wikinger” where we drunk a lot of Met and listened to Kolk, a great musician dedicated to old music. We also met our old friend Barbara from the ÖTG. She camped there with her sister and we were kindly allowed to visit there encampment and watch them while shooting with bow and arrow.

There were nevertheless some things I didn’t like that much. For one most bands there where too loud for my flavor. I prefer more ambient music and less bagpipes. :shhh: Also the weather on Saturday noon was really bad (nothing that could be changed, but I swam in my shoes).

All images I made can be found in my Flickr account. They are very few, nevertheless I like them. ^^
